    It is illegal to throw away CRT and LCD screens in Maine. Manufacturers pay to recycle TVs, monitors, laptops, tablets, e-readers, printers and game consoles, and towns must offer a collection site or event, though some sites charge a small fee.

    The manufacturer-funded program serves households, K-12 schools, and businesses and 501(c)(3) nonprofits with 100 or fewer employees. Cell phones are not included but may be recycled at cell service providers' stores.
