Mattress recycling program
YesMattresses and box springs can be dropped off free at participating Bye Bye Mattress sites, in any condition. When a store delivers a new mattress it must offer to take your old one at no extra charge. An $18 recycling fee per unit is charged at sale.
The $18 fee applies to sales since April 1, 2026. Retailers have up to 30 days to take back your old mattress and may refuse one that is a health or safety risk. Sites may set unit limits or need appointments. Bed frames, cushions and crib mattresses are not covered.
