3 sites in Nevada are listed for household hazardous waste: 3 transfer stations. The most are in Washoe County (2) and Douglas County (1).
All post hours; none publish a fee in our records yet. A site is listed when its own record names household hazardous waste. Limits and fees differ, so call before you load up.
Nevada has no paint stewardship law, so there is no PaintCare network of free paint drop-off sites (PaintCare runs programs only in 12 states and DC). Ask your local household hazardous waste program what paint it takes.
EPA lists paint among household products that can contain hazardous ingredients and points people to local household hazardous waste collections instead of drains or, in some cases, the regular trash.

Nevada bans lead-acid (car) batteries from landfills and incinerators except at state-permitted facilities, and has no store take-back or deposit rule. EPA advises returning car batteries to a battery retailer or household hazardous waste collection.
For household batteries, EPA says alkaline ones can usually go in the trash, but take rechargeable, lithium and button batteries to a battery drop-off or household hazardous waste site.
